Robinson and tone
During Eugene Robinson's column "Hillary Clinton is her own Worst Enemy", Robinson creates a forgiving and defensive tone in regards to Hillary Clinton. Robinson starts off by addressing how Clinton has the highest chance to becoming the next president of the United States. He then proceeds to defend her email scandal by presenting that Clinton wanted control and there was no ill intention present during the scandal. Robinson also mentions that "Hillary and Bill Clinton do have enemies, lots of them, who show no compunction about launching unfair and vicious attacks" (Robinson 10-11). Through defending Clinton and saying she had no ill intention during the scandal, and that her mistake was made out of fear of those trying to harm her, Robinson is expressing his own emotions toward the Clinton administration.
